Microdosing 101

scheduling your practice

Once you’ve discovered your sweet spot dose, the next step is finding the rhythm that supports your unique goals, lifestyle, and energy type.

Microdosing isn’t one-size-fits-all—it’s a personal ritual, not a prescription.
That said, there are a few common frameworks that have stood the test of time.

Pro tip: When you're first starting out, it’s often helpful to pick a schedule and stick with it for a couple months. This creates structure, allows you to track results clearly, and helps you build a grounded rhythm with the medicine.
But this is not rigid science—you’re allowed to shift. As you get to know your system, you may feel called to adjust your schedule or go intuitive. Just be sure to always take at least 2 consecutive days off per week to maintain sensitivity.

Phase 2: Choose Your Schedule

Here are four well-known microdosing schedules to choose from:

2. Stamets Stack (5 Days On / 2 Days Off)

Best for: Building new habits, deep neuroplastic support, nervous system recalibration
Often combined with: Lion’s Mane + Niacin
Example: Dose Mon–Fri → off Sat/Sun
✅ Provides the most exposure to psilocybin’s neuroplastic and anti-inflammatory effects
✅ Can be particularly helpful for those coming off antidepressants or other meds
✅ Offers daily reassurance for those used to a pharmaceutical routine
⚠️ Take a full week off every 2–3 months to prevent tolerance

4. Rogue / Intuitive Schedule

Best for: Highly attuned folks who want to dose only when it feels right
✅ Excellent once you’re experienced
✅ Useful during creative sprints, retreats, or emotional thresholds
⚠️ Not recommended during the dose discovery phase

Take Breaks to Reset

To keep the practice powerful over time:

  • Take 1 week off every 2 months

  • Use this time to check in with your baseline and reflect on your progress

  • You may be surprised by how far you’ve come

1. Fadiman Protocol (1 Day On / 2 Days Off)

Best for: Emotional clarity, creative flow, gentle self-discovery
Example: Dose Monday → off Tues/Wed → Dose Thursday → off Fri/Sat/Sun
✅ Great for beginners
✅ Clean data points on effects
✅ Encourages mindfulness

3. Every Other Day (EOD)

Best for: Mood balancing, gentle integration, flexible structure
✅ Simple to remember
✅ Avoids tolerance buildup
✅ Great for long-term use
